More than ever, today’s Brooklyn is infused with by 17th century Dutch culture. Its values, aesthetics and pleasures are present at every moment in Brooklyn street names, architecture, craft brewing and farms, blending with NYC’s most cutting edge art, tech and fashion scene.
On this three-hour tour of the neighborhoods along the Brooklyn waterfront we will stop for tastings of locally produced food and drink, discover the finest of NYC’s street art and architecture, visit a farm, and learn about the curious and surprising connections all these have with Brooklyn’s rich historic and cultural traditions. Bike East Harlem with local artists!
These rides combine a tour of East Harlem’s public art with artist talks and tastings by local chefs.
Led by local artists, riders will have an opportunity to dive deep into the art, history and cultural traditions of East Harlem, interact with some of the area’s most thoughtful and innovative contemporary artists, and savor the best of East Harlem’s food culture, from both its beloved traditions and the innovations of the area’s brightest new chefs.
This tour includes stops at gallery exhibitions, public art installations and local restaurants, along with a short artist talk.
